New release allows attorneys to fully edit binders and notes offline with automatic syncing and conflict resolution functionality

WASHINGTON, DC [May 26, 2026] — Align, the only digital case binder platform built by a trial lawyerfocused exclusively on litigation workflows, today announced the releaseof its new Offline Read-Write Mode for iPad, giving attorneys the ability tofully work inside Align even when internet access is unavailable.

The release addresses one of the most common operational challenges litigators face: maintaining productivity while traveling, working in courthouses with unreliable connectivity, orpreparing for hearings and depositions away from stable internet access.

“Litigators do not stop working because the WiFi disappears,” said Sam Davidoff, CEO of Align and former litigation partner at Williams & Connolly. “Whether attorneys are on a plane, in a remote courthouse, preparing witnesses, or traveling between offices, they still need full access to their case materials. This release gives lawyers the ability to continue working exactly as they would online, without interruption.”

Unlike traditional offline viewing tools that limit users to read-only access, Align’s Offline Read-Write Mode allows attorneys to make substantive edits while disconnected, with updatessaved directly to the iPad and synchronized automatically when internet access returns.

The release also introducesConflict Resolution, a safeguard designed for collaborative litigation teams. If multiple users edit the same note or document while offline, Align presents clear resolution options that allow users to compare versions, preserve edits, save alternate copies, or merge workflows without losing work.

“Litigation is inherently collaborative, and offline work creates real risks around version control and data loss,” Davidoff continued. “We wanted to make sure attorneys could work confidently offline without worrying about losing edits or overwriting a colleague’s work.”

The new release includes:

  • Full offline read-write capabilities on iPad
  • Automatic synchronization when reconnecting online
  • Intelligent conflict detection and resolution     workflows
  • Offline storage management controls
  • Download and sync status indicators for case     materials
  • Support for offline binder and note access during     travel, hearings, depositions, and trial preparation

The update reflects Align’s continued focus on building litigation technology around the way trial lawyers actually work, rather than adapting generic document management systems to litigation use cases.
