Website Privacy Policy

Website Privacy Policy

Welcome to align.lawyerdemo.align.lawyernews.align.lawyer, and other subdomains of align.lawyer (collectively, the "Website"), owned and operated by MFB Technologies, Inc. ("MFB" or "we", "us", "our"). The Website provides information about our product, Align, which enables easy electronic collaboration on all litigation matters of a law firm (the "Platform").

The Website also allows you to request a demonstration of our product and to access a demonstration version of the Platform with credentials we supply. This privacy policy ("Privacy Policy") explains how information is collected and used in connection with the Website and demo use of the Platform.

We are committed to protecting and respecting data privacy, and we encourage you to read this Privacy Policy.

Data We Collect And Process

We collect your information when you contact us with an inquiry or request.

You may contact us by email, submit a request for a demo of the platform, complete our survey, or sign-up to our newsletter. When you do so, we collect information such as your name, email address, law firm affiliation, and the content of your message.

We refer to this data as "Contact Information".

When you use the Platform in a demo, the Platform processes the content and materials that you upload to or post on the Platform or create on the Platform.

Demo users upload and post content to and on the Platform's demo environment (demo.align.lawyer). Demo users also create content, such as notes and annotations, on the Platform. MFB does not determine or control the content demo users choose to upload or create. This is determined and controlled exclusively by the demo user. If you are a demo user, we very strongly encourage you not to upload confidential or personal information and not to include such information in any content you create.

We refer to this as "Demo Content".

The Platform's demo processes analytics information about how you use it, and the settings and configuration options you select.

The Platform's demo collects certain information about how you interact with it, such as the settings and configuration options you select on the Platform's demo, and the actions you take while using the Platform's demo (e.g., authoring a document, accessing a document, annotating a document).

We refer to this as "Analytics Information".

The Purposes For Which The Data Is Processed

  • We process your Contact Information to handle and respond to your inquiry. For example, if you expressed interest in a demo of the Platform, we will use your Contact Information to provide a demonstration or to set you up with demo access to the Platform. If you ask to sign-up to our newsletter, we will use your Contact Information to sign you up to our periodic newsletter.
  • We process the Demo Content. In doing so, we act purely as a "service provider" and "processor" within the meaning of these terms under the California Privacy Rights Act, California Consumer Privacy Act (CPRA/CCPA), and other applicable state privacy laws in the United States, such as Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, Connecticut Act Concerning Personal Data Privacy and Online Monitoring, Utah Consumer Privacy Act, and the Colorado Privacy Act.
  • In exceptional circumstances explained in the next section, we will process Contact Information, Demo Content, and Analytics Information to handle violations of laws, abusive use of the Platform's demo or to comply with legally mandated obligations or judicial orders.
  • We will also use Contact Information, Demo Content, and Analytics Information if necessary to facilitate a change in our corporate structure (such as due to a merger or acquisition).

Who Processes Your Data

We will process information with our contractors who help us with user support for the Platform.

We will process personal information with the assistance of our contractors who help us to operate the Website and the Platform's demo. These contractors are authorized to use the information only in this context and only as necessary to support us, and not for any other purpose.

We will share Contact Information, Demo Content, and Analytics Information with others if you abuse your right to use the Platform or violate any applicable law.

If you abused your rights to use the Platform's demo, or violated any applicable law, we will share Contact Information, Demo Content, and Analytics Information with authorities and with third parties (such as legal counsels and advisors), for the purpose of handling of the violation or breach.

We will also share Contact Information, Demo Content, and Analytics Information if we are required to do so under law.

We will share Contact Information, Demo Content, and Analytics Information with third parties in any event of change in our structure.

If the operation of our business is organized within a different framework, or through another legal structure or entity (such as due to a merger or acquisition), we will share Contact Information, Demo Content, and Analytics Information only as required to enable the structural change in the operation of the business.
