Should a law firm build its own AI tools?

Build where your own work product is the advantage, and buy for commodity tasks. AI trained on a firm's briefs, opinions and case history does something no vendor product can. Align helps firms decide which is which and builds the tools worth owning.

What does an AI consultant do for a litigation practice?

An AI consultant assesses which tools a firm already has and how lawyers use them, identifies where AI helps or hurts litigation work, evaluates vendors, and guides rollout on live matters. Align also builds custom tools when the right one does not exist.

How is AI for litigation different from AI for transactional work?

Transactional AI centers on drafting and document review. Litigation work includes depositions, motion practice, trial preparation and jury selection, which few commercial AI products address. Litigation teams often need tools built around their own workflow.

Who is Sam Davidoff?

Sam Davidoff is the founder and CEO of Align. He practiced as a litigator for more than twenty years, most of them as a partner at Williams & Connolly, where he chaired the technology committee. He leads Align's product design and development.

How do firms start working with Align?

Engagements begin with an initial consultation on the firm's priorities. From there, the work can take the form of advisory counsel, a strategy assessment, integration with case teams, or custom development.
